I have been an avid Pepsi drinking since I was a child. Like Pepsico, I too was in the Carolinas. PepsiCo’s seeds were sewn in New Bern, North Carolina. In 1893 in the small town of New Bern North Carolina Caleb Bradham created Pepsi-Cola and began offering it to his pharmacy customers.
In 1965 Donald Kendall (Pepsico CEO) and Herman Lay (Frito-Lay CEO) joinned forces and begin selling salty snacks alongside the best cola on earth. Realizing they had “a marriage made in heaven”. Kendall and Lay merged their companies Frito-Lay and Pepsi-Cola to create PepsiCo.
PepsiCo is driven by an extensive portfolio including products such as Frito-Lay, Gatorade, Pepsi-Cola, Quaker, Tropicana, and SodaStream.
A New Flavor in Town
A new product I would like to see PepsiCo launch is guacamole flavored Tostitos. I love dipping Tostitos into some homemade guacamole. This would cut out the prep work and the mess. To promote this new product Pepsi should do a swot analysis to determine what the products strengths, weakness, opportunities and threats would be. They could partner with other company’s such as Taco Bell to get the product out there. Pepsi could have the release date during Cinco De Mayo. During big events and holidays stores do special displays for certain products. The guacamole flavored Tostitos could be featured on these displays.
