How I use social media on a daily basis.

Law Technology Today

Hi, I’m Elizabeth Elmore. I am a wife, mother, and photographer. I decided a little over a year ago to go back to school. To add to the mountain of this I already do I am also perusing a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a concentration in marketing. I spend my days between working for one of the world’s largest corporations, to growing my skills as a photographer, chasing my degree and kids, and being a wife. Tired? You bet I am. One a typical day there are two main social media sites that I visit; those two sites are Facebook and Instagram. Facebook is a social media networking site. Users of Facebook can post comments, share photographs, and post links to news articles and other content found on the web. They can also chat live with other Facebook users and watch short-form videos. While similar to Facebook in some ways, Instagram is a social media platform for sharing photos and videos. I do visit other social media sites throughout a typical week. Those sites include but are not limited to YouTube, Tumblr, and Pinterest.

The majority of the reactions I have when visiting Facebook and or Instagram are positive. I do believe that Facebook tries to push more of the controversial topics. Are my needs met when I use one social media platform over anther, no. Each social media platform offers different advantages. I receive emails from many different companies throughout the day. The majority of these emails I don’t ever open. You have an occasional email that might catch my eye. The companies that are lucky enough to have their emails read include content such as photography tips, deals on camera equipment, and tips on how to get into marketing.

There are several things that I have noticed about the use of digital media in marketing today. Websites and social media platforms gather information about its users. I have noticed over the last ten years or so how websites and social media easily collect data and information about its users. Then they use this information to lure their users to buy products they normally wouldn’t buy. On a positive note, they also use this information to tailor their sites at apps around each individual users’ preferences.
