Hint Inc was established in 2005 when founder Kara Goldin a mother of 3 wanted to make healthier choices for herself (CGTN America, 2021). She switched from diet soda to water and added fruit slices for flavor (CGTN America, 2021). That’s when she figured out that boiling fruit and extracting the oil from the fruit and putting it in water made the flavor even better (CGTN, 2021). Hint Inc. became socially responsible when the company decided to reduce its impact on the environment. “They do this by providing a safe way to package their products that is suitable for the product and consumers (Hint, 2022).” The company does this in a way that also minimizes its impact on the environment (Hint. 2022). The company bottles are made of fully recyclable PET plastic. This plastic does not contain BPA or any other plasticizer chemicals (Hint, 2022). Hint supports improvements that are placed in bottle deposit laws and recycling services (Hint, 2022). The company also supports establishing this recycling system throughout the country. The company stopped purchasing bottles from large manufacturers. They did so because they had to transport them by truck to the bottling facilities and this used way more fuel than they needed. The use of the extra fuel emitted carbon dioxide in the process (Hint, 2022). Today the majority of their bottles (and caps) are made in the bottling facility this eliminates most of the company’s energy consumption and carbon emissions that they used when transporting the empty packaging (Hint, 2022). After doing some research I could not find any evidence of the company being unethical or socially irresponsible in any way.
For Profit Environment
Hint Inc started with the health of a mother and her family in mind. The company’s family has grown to include the people of this country and the environment in which they inhabit. Not once has the company ever insinuated that it is green for show or profit. I full-heartedly believe that Hint Inc is “green” for the health and benefit of our environment and the people who inhabit it.
